The 89th Carnival of Education

Welcome to the 89th Carnival of Education! I thought I would include some local Rhode Island flavor in this edition. To your left is a clearly gated and overgrown entrance of an amusement park in Warwick, RI where I grew up.
To your right is a picture of the Carousel at the Rocky Point Amusement park. This Park no longer exists but it brings back good memories.

Now for the Carnival of Education! In this edition I would like to focus on the reason for the name of my blog: Poor, Starving, College Student. My intention with this title is to constantly remind myself and everyone that reads who we are really fighting for in the end. The students are the ones that ulitmately we are all in education for and I'd like to remind each of us with the Carnival posts. In order to focus more on this point, I will simply post the submissions in the order they were submitted and then try to make the connection between the post and the bottom line for the students we all care so much about.

Next week's Carnival of Education returns to a well known host, Andrew Pass's Current Events In Education. Submissions should be sent to ap@pass-ed.com or use this handy submission form. Submissions should be received by 5 PM EST on Tuesday, October 24th. Please include the title of your post and its URL, if possible. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the midway should open Wednesday morning, October 25th.

If you are interested in hosting the Carnival please write to edwonk@educationwonks.org. Feel free to visit the Carnival's archives!
